Melinda is a life long animal lover, mom, and self taught artist. Starting from a young age she was doodling for the love of drawing, she never once took formal art classes except in high school. Her passion for art and especially animals drove her to pursue new techniques and further her skills to develop her own style.

In addition to art her other career is being a lisenced veterinary technician. She is currently working at a zoo in education and hopes to pursue a career in animal care at the zoo. She also has a passion for dinosaurs, and dog training.

ART STATEMENT

I create in several styles of art with most I aim to re create a realistic portrait of the animal being studied, with a bit of my own artistic flair. I also have a more loosely flowing style that truly seeks to capture the spirit of the animal. These works are usually very colorful and based off the energy I receive from the photo/ animal. Any non animal art is full of emotion with a personal story behind it. I use art as a way to express myself and my feelings. Each work of art is truly an original
